WOMP and What's Coming Up

I have been off the grid yesterday but I am definitely working on some stuff for the blogoshpere. Here is my WOMP for yesterday.  It's a full day of eats from me.  Not the best stuff ALL day but pretty good nonetheless.

It was a bit too carby for me but I worked out pretty heavy so I deserved it.  That Honey sunshine cereal is amazing.  Almost like Captain Crunch!  The salmon recipe is on the way as well.  8 m&m's are like 100 calories and I reallyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyy wanted chocolate.

And what's going on in my life?

  • Getting ready for Rob's deployment and working out what I am going to do and how I intend to keep my self busy.
  • I'm pretty sure decorating will be the way to fix the previous issue lol.  Been all over pinterest  and I've got color schemes and ideas galore.
  • Met some of the other military spouses and that was pretty nice.
  • Restarted INSANITY and I'm on day 4.  This time with no scale to jump in and ruin my motivation.  Damn you scale and your impossible standards.
  • Moving towards 5 meals a day. Like actual meals.  I think it will keep me from being hungry and snacking on BS.  Insanity can damn sure make you hungry.
  • Thinking about volunteering with the Red Cross.
  • Been training my puppy and he can do 3 things now!  THREE lol
  • The sun has been shining like crazy and I love it.
That's about it.

I'm on Stuffed 'Shrooms

Sounds like some new hallucinogenic drug huh?  One can only wish.  Today I was craving potato skins.  Don't ask me why, but I realllllllly wanted them bad so I decided to try to get my cheesy fix another way.  It sucks being a creature of habit because I had been so used to eating crap like that all the time.  So all these changes had better start blocking out these ridiculous cravings! URGH!  Anywho, I decided to have some stuffed mushrooms with my seared chicken thighs and fresh string beans.  I mean really, 160 calories is better than 1000 for some ole horrible, fattening.... yummy, delicious, wonderful.... Sorry.

I loveeeeee Portabella mushrooms big time.  They are juicy and meaty and really they add a rich taste to everything I put them in (And I use them a lot).  And they are only about 22 calories a pop.  How amazballs is that!?!

Stuffed 'Shrooms
159 calories

1 Portabella mushroom
1 T chive cream cheese
1 T feta Cheese
1 T Real bacon bits
1/2 T minced garlic
little olive oil for the outside of the shrooms.

Using a spoon, scoop out the the stem and the brown bits in the middle of the shroom and rub olive oil on outside.

In a small bowl, mix the rest of the ingredients VERY WELL and make sure everything is all blended.

Add your mixture to the center of the shroom and bake on 350 F for 30 minutes or more.  My stove is kind of crappy so it takes me a bit longer to get things meted or crisp like I like them.

That's it.  Serve by itself or as a side dish.  Since I didn't have any meat for lunch I had to make sure I got some pollo for dinner.

What foods do you crave the most?

WOMP- Best Veggie Stir Fry

Ok I am really excited about this lol.  I am starting this new thing for when I want to post something real quick that I am eating (either at home or out and about) but I don't want to recipe for it or anything.  I'm calling it "WOMP"-- What's On My Plate.  Like it?? Huh??? Do ya??!?!  I love it.  This will be easy to do since I can also do it from my phone.  I love it!  It should be pronounced like WOMP THERE IT IS!  WOMP THERE IT IS! Hahahaha.  People do that OOTD thing where they post their outfit of the day but I don't really think anyone gives a damn about what I wear around the house all day right?  Hey, watch your mouth!  You better care about these sexy pajamas!

YESTERDAY'S WOMP---FREAKALICIOUS VEGGIE STIR FRY

Added to a wok and cooked down then added sesame oil, brown sugar,
& light and dark soy.

The I ate it with some Chicken Adobe (the chicken is under recipes!)

Mounds Oatmeal

I have been off the radar for a while but I'm back.  Sitting here watching youtube makeup videos to see what I'm missing out on in the flyness world.  We have had quite a few things happening during the past week.  Here is a quick run down before the deliciousness that is Mounds Oatmeal:

Our anniversary was July 3rd!  5 years down and the rest of our lives to go!  We had a dinner at home, we wrote vows since we had a courthouse wedding, and we just enjoyed each others company.  The next day we went and saw 2 movies in Cambridge. Sounds like a great weekend to me!

Friday was family day on base and I got to ride in a helicopter.  It was pretty awesome and it was generally just nice to be around TheHubby's workplace for a while.  We aren't allowed back here on the flight line on normal days.  Later that night we went to dinner with some friends for a birthday.  It was nice to get dressed and put on some heels but the birthday girl was a little boring to me.  I hear she is much more fun when she's drunk but since we didn't go to the club with them after, I didn't get to see that part.  Everyone else was fun though, Go Figure!  All in all it was a pretty nice day.  We came home and played video games and got pretty tipsy lol.

The girls made an appearance lol
About to fly the helicopter

Saturday was freaking FABO!  We went to Bury to volunteer for crowd control while the olympic torch came through.  It felt epic seeing the real thing run right past us.  Even if we did have on ugly bright as hell jackets!  I like the Olympics, especially the gymnastics!

ANNNNNNNNNNNNNNNND none of these things would have been possible without my favorite start to the day... OATMEAL!!

Eggs do the deed as well, but when it comes down to it, Oatmeal makes me the most happy!  This oatmeal has a delicious chocolatey taste and the coconut mixed with banana makes it like a flavor explosion in your mouth.  I used milk chocolate but I'm sure it would be healthier if you used dark

Mounds Oatmeal
1/2 cup oats
1/2 cup almond milk (or more if you like it creamy)
1 Tbsp chocolate chips
1 Tbsp shredded coconut
1/2 banana
1 Tsp vanilla
1 Tsp cinnamon
1 packet Stevia

Bring milk to a boil then add oatmeal, cinnamon, vanilla, and stevia.

In a bowl, add 1/2 of the banana, chocolate chips, and the coconut and save the rest for the top.

Once oatmeal finishes, add the remaining tidbits to the top and serve.

What is your favorite part of the Olympics?

New Day, Old Realizations

Afternoon World!  It's a beautifully rainy day in Merry ole England and Im sitting here with my precious angel on my lap, CSI in full swing and all done with America's Next top Model.  Last night TheHubby and I laid awake for a while talking about fitness and what we are doing wrong.

And it should come as no surprise that my problem once again is carbs.  Not that I am eatin gthem in general, but I tend to go overboard.  I see people who can just stop at a spoon of rice or half of a potato, and I pretty much suck as far as that goes.  Its like eating 1 carb (like oatmeal for breakfast) just makes me want more and more carbs.  "O let me have some toast with this"  "O, Im working out today so I can afford some carbs".  And for me, Carbs lead to more crabs leads to sugar leads to being a "fasshole" which stands for Food Asshole.

Dear Shaina---This is why you're fat.

So until I learn some freaking self control, its back to no carbs no sugar and sticking to it.  TheHubby and I realized that happy married people tend to get fat.  They lounge around, relax, eat out, and basically just add some ole nasty weight to their lives.  Not I said the Cat!  We don't want to be the fat couple.
Breakfast today- Veggie omelet, turkey bacon, 1/2 banana, mandarin
orange, strawberries and blueberries and coffee.

But we do like fat food on occasion.  What to do about that?

We all know I'm a healthy blog whore and I stalk the fitness blogosphere, and I notice that all of my healthy blog friends (I like to call them friends even though I'm sure they don't know I exist lol) generally eat healthy all the time.  WHAAAAAAAAADAFUUUUUUUUU??? (Thats WTF but real ghetto) So what, am I supposed to just supposed to give up all the food I love?  French Fries, Fried chicken, Pizza?  Come on Son *ed lover voice*.

But really......... is that what it takes to get to where you want to be?  Maybe I am not the kind of person who can have a cheat day or cheat meal.  Some of my blog friends healthify their favorite foods so that they can still have them, like gluten free and fat free versions that they make themselves.  Now that would be a fantastic option, but I don't know if that would be good for me right now.

To me "Healthier versions" sounds like "Yay I can eat even more" which really defeats the purpose doesn't it!  I want to stop "starting over" every Monday and undoing the S*** I eat over the weekend.  I would like to just enjoy healthy food and forget about my cheesecakes and Chinese buffets!

Ok, so final thoughts and goals:

  • Stick with restricting myself until I learn how to TRULY healthify everything AND eat it in moderation.
  • Give up old fatty food obsessions
  • Make it at least 2 weeks without having a fat day and having to start over.

But on a side note, look how cute this girl is.  CUTIE PIE!
I'm pretty sure this based on my beautiful self
lol.  Ok, not really...but kinda

Do you have a cheat day/meal?
Do you eat the foods you love even if they are no good for you?
Do you have to "start over" after the weekend?
